Company
On October 20th, Klaus Space Transportation (KST) conducted a kickoff meeting with the European Space Agency’s Business Incubation Centre (ESA BIC) in Reutlingen. The ESA BIC Hessen & Baden-Württemberg has two locations in Baden-Württemberg (in Reutlingen and Friedrichshafen) and supports space start-ups with business advice and technical expertise. We are pleased to announce that KST has been selected by the center in Reutlingen for incubation.
The funding, amounting to €50,000, is a major step forward in developing sustainable, high-performance and cost-effective technology to bring cargo back from space. Our flexible, lightweight and environmentally friendly Inflatable Atmospheric Decelerator (IAD) will now be tested in a feasibility study, with technical support from Airbus Defence & Space and Robert Bosch GmbH.
Other partners include Dr. Georg Herdrich at the Institute of Space Systems (IRS) at the University of Stuttgart, the leading research institution for atmospheric re-entry in Germany and the German Institutes for Textile and Fiber Research (DITF), specialists in industrial textile fabrics.
Congratulations to everyone who participated in the successful application! We are honored to have been selected by the jury, comprising of the European Space Agency (ESA), the German Aerospace Center (DLR), the Centre of Satellite Navigation Hesse (cesah GmbH) and the Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) Reutlingen.
This has truly been a giant leap in fulfilling our vision: to protect our planet and provide access to space.
